How ABASK Took Control of Its Ecommerce Integrations with Patchworks

About ABASK

ABASK is a luxury home-design retailer offering a unique curation of handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces from over 400 artisans across more than 50 countries. With everything in stock and ready to ship, ABASK delivers its full inventory of 7,000+ objects globally in just 1-6 days. As the brand expanded, it needed a scalable and efficient way to connect its Shopify ecommerce platform with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring seamless operations across warehouses in the EU, UK, and US.

To achieve this, ABASK partnered with Patchworks to integrate its ecommerce and ERP systems. With a highly technical in-house team, ABASK wanted to take full ownership of its integrations, leveraging Patchworks’ expertise for setup, training, and best practices.

The Challenge

ABASK faced several key challenges in transitioning to a new integration platform:

  • Managing Integrations In-House – ABASK had never managed its own integrations before. Building the internal expertise to configure and maintain its integration platform was essential.

  • Reducing External Dependencies – The brand wanted full control over its ecommerce stack to minimise reliance on third-party support and reduce ongoing costs.

  • Optimising Business Entities – With three business entities across different regions, ABASK needed a streamlined process for managing orders and inventory efficiently.

The Solution: How Patchworks Enabled ABASK’s Growth

Patchworks provided ABASK with a robust integration platform, along with consultancy and training to ensure a smooth transition. By equipping ABASK’s team with the necessary tools and knowledge, Patchworks enabled them to confidently manage and expand their integrations independently.

Key components of the solution included:

  • Comprehensive Training & Support – ABASK’s team gained deep technical knowledge through Patchworks’ training platform and best practice guidance.

  • Flexible & Scalable Integration – Patchworks’ no-code/low-code dashboard allowed ABASK to configure and refine its data flows in-house without the need for external support.

  • Optimised Data Flows –  The integration connected Shopify with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, automating critical business processes such as the flow of orders, creation of inventory and ongoing management of stock.

  • Operational Efficiency – By automating critical workflows, ABASK optimised inventory and order management across its business entities, improving accuracy and reducing manual intervention.

The Results: ABASK’s Success with Patchworks

With Patchworks, ABASK successfully took full ownership of its ecommerce integrations, leading to significant operational improvements:

  • Seamless Order & Inventory Management – Automated data flows between Shopify and Business Central ensured accurate stock levels and efficient order processing.

  • Cost Savings – By managing integrations in-house, ABASK reduced reliance on external support, leading to long-term savings.

  • Scalable Infrastructure – The Patchworks Core platform provided a solid foundation, allowing ABASK to implement new warehouse processes without additional development costs.

  • Operational Efficiency – During peak periods, ABASK processed approximately 74,000 operations, demonstrating the reliability and scalability of its integration setup.

The Future of ABASK & Patchworks

With a fully integrated and self-managed ecommerce infrastructure, ABASK is well-positioned for continued growth. As the brand refines its operations, Patchworks remains a trusted partner, providing a scalable and flexible platform to support future expansion and operational enhancements.
